What is Film First?
Film First is a showcase dedicated to giving the work of independent film makers their first major public performance with screen time on Sky. We are aiming for depth and breadth, shorts and features and genre-busting or just plain comfy and comic and anywhere in between...get your film out first on Film First.
Why Film First?
Because Film First is designed to showcase the work of the best of independent film makers. We offer
- propeller offers a free European platform for independent film makers to showcase their work on SKY.
- the opportunity for independent film makers to gain a broadcast credit for their work
- the opportunity via the website for perspective buyers, sales agents and commissioning editors to contact filmmakers directly
- get some honest feedback from a real audience via our on-line voting
- support from an advisory board of patrons, including key broadcasters, funding agencies and regulators
- eligibility to apply to filmmaker production funds, sponsorship schemes and training bursaries.
How do I submit a film?
- Download and complete the propeller paperwork. Please ensure you sign the licence agreement
- Send all the completed paperwork, along with a copy of your film(on Mini DV, DV CAM or DVD) to the address below with your name and contact details. Please include any stills you have.

What documentation do I need to complete?
Please download the document below:
*In keeping with OFCOM regulations we cannot broadcast films without the relevant clearances therefore, failure to return paperwork will mean your film cannot not be broadcast.
*Please ensure you are the rightsholder of your film and that all the music in your film is cleared for broadcast.
